Lucknow: Defence Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh met with Mayor of Lucknow, Sushma Kharkwal to inquire about her health following a recent injury sustained during a public event in the Para area. He extended his best wishes for her speedy recovery and praised her commitment to public service.
The Mayor suffered a fracture in her left leg after a misstep led to a twist during a programme held in Para on April 19. News of her injury sparked concern not only within the Lucknow Municipal Corporation but also among citizens and party workers.
Rajnath Singh visited her at her camp office and assured her of his full support. “Sushma ji is a dedicated and hard-working public representative. Her contribution to the city’s development is commendable. We pray for her swift recovery so she can resume her duties soon,” he said.
Accompanying the Defence Minister were Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, MLCs Ramchandra Singh Pradhan and Mukesh Sharma, MLA Yogesh Shukla, and BJP Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi. All the senior leaders interacted with the Mayor, expressed their concern, and wished her a prompt return to good health.
The collective sentiment was one of respect and admiration for Mayor Sushma Kharkwal’s dedication to her role and a shared hope that she will soon be back in action, continuing her service to the people of Lucknow.
